Position: Business Analyst-Product Reference Data
1. Industry knowledge-client onboarding and financial regulations
2. Relationship management, communication skills
3. Worked previously in reference data-not necessarily client, but client is preferable
4. Must be able to capture and document requirements
This is a business analyst role within the Group CDO Solution Delivery Group program focusing on delivering strategic and continuous improvement projects for the Client Reference Data program. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Gathering business requirements by identifying the issue / defect, documenting the current state, and documenting the proposed business state.
• Write formal business requirement documents and review with business stakeholders achieving signoff
• Act as advocate and gatekeeper of the business requirements throughout the project life cycle with clear understanding of the business impact
• Coordinate user acceptance testing for business users including preparing test scripts, validating test completion and signoff
• Evaluate measurable project benefits, i.e. increased revenue, efficiency and control
• Establish & maintain strong relationships with various functions and businesses throughout the bank
• Establish good knowledge of investment banking business processes – front to back, particularly in client reference data
• Gain understanding of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)
• Act as intermediary between business line and IT to ensure optimal delivery against requirements
• Convey status and report clearly, accurately and concisely through written and verbal communication
• Take ownership and resolution of tasks and issues
Skills Required
• Significant project management / business analysis experience with a leading consulting firm within financial services or in an international investment bank or similar institution
• Knowledge of Client or Product Reference Data front to back - Client Onboarding, KYC, AML, settlement
• Knowledge of the banking regulatory environment
• Track record in delivering major adoption/migration projects in an investment bank or similar institution
• Track record of driving the decommission of legacy applications
• Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Ease in dealing with senior management
• Experience in achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to them
• Extremely strong organizational skills
• Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, Quality center)
• Good knowledge of IT, including experience of managing IT-oriented projects, user requirements development, and testing
• Good understanding of IT oriented methods and approaches
• Good knowledge of investment banking business processes – front to back
• College / University degree
